Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 wins Best Kannada Film and Best Action Direction awards at the National Awards 2024

In the feature film category, KGF Chapter 2 won two awards at the 70th National Film Awards.

On Friday, August 16, the 70th National Film Awards were announced for films released in 2022. Yash’s KGF Chapter 2 won in the Best Kannada Film and Best Action Direction (Stunt Choreography) categories.

In addition to winning Best Film for Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films LLP, Anbariv won Best Action Direction. KGF: Chapter 2 was released on April 14, 2022 after much delay. The sequel exceeded the expectations of KGF: Chapter 1 within a few days of its release.

Apart from Yash, it also stars Sanjay Dutt as the antagonist, Srinidhi Shetty as Yash’s love interest and Raveena Tandon and Prakash Raj in key roles. It is available in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. Ravi Basrur composed the film’s music, Bhuvan Gowda handled the cinematography, and Ujwal Kulkarni edited it.

In the second part, Rocky (Yash) who has won over the people of KGF now dreams big and treads a more dangerous path. He has established an indestructible empire, but he has many enemies, especially Adheera (Sanjay Dutt), who are out to defeat him and retake KGF. Under the banner of Hombale Films, Vijay Kiragandur produced the film.

Toxic is also Yash’s first project as a producer under his production house Monster Minds Creation, after the huge success of the KGF franchise. The action-packed movie Toxic will be directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions. It’s billed as a fairy tale for grown-ups. Currently, the film is in the early stages of production.

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding Kiara Advani’s participation in Toxic. According to reports, Nayanthara is also likely to play the role of a sister in the film, a role previously portrayed by Kareena Kapoor Khan. On April 10, 2025, Toxic is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide.
